Families are encouraged to participate in the AKFCS Climate Survey, which will provide the District with data on culture, community, sense of belonging, and inclusion. Data gathered from the survey will guide the District’s future vision and goals. This survey will take approximately 8 minutes to complete. We ask that you complete an individual survey for each child currently enrolled at Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School. The Climate Survey is available, with translations on the site, the survey will close on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 8:00 AM.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Climate Survey
The DEI Committee asks all AKF families and staff to participate in the survey. In an effort to not create ‘survey fatigue’ for students, we will use the data from the Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) survey our students recently completed in school.
Yes. We will not be asking families or staff to put their name on the survey. The links to the survey are generic links; they are not tied to any individual. Survey participants may elect to answer demographic questions, which will be helpful to analyze the data. These questions are optional and will not identify a survey participant.
Yes. If you have more than one child, you should complete a separate survey for each child. Doing so will allow the District to gain better insight into each of your children’s experiences at AKF.
The Climate Surveys was sent by email on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from our One Call Now system. Be sure to check your spam inbox . If you have trouble locating the survey email Mrs. Cabral, ESL Director. The survey will close on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 8:00 AM.
Abby Kelley Leadership, the DEI committee, and Board of Trustees are interested in learning about areas for growth when it comes to how our staff, families and students feel about Abby Kelley; if they have a sense of belonging; if they are treated with respect; and if they are valued for their role in the student’s education. All responses will support AKF Leadership to set goals for continued improvement.
Both the family and staff survey are estimated to take eight minutes to complete.
