Dear Abby Kelley Elementary School Community,
I am thrilled and deeply honored to be joining the AKF Elementary community. From the moment I began learning about this amazing school, it was clear that AKF is a place where relationships with families are cherished, students are known and valued and character matters. Building character has always been one of my foundational beliefs as an educator. Persistence in learning, creative problem solving, and kindness are values that have been woven throughout my entire career, and I am excited to continue that work alongside you in providing excellence in education.
I come to AKF with over 20 years of experience as an educator, having taught students in kindergarten through fifth grade and served in school and district leadership roles across Massachusetts. Most recently, I have served as an Assistant Principal as well as a Co-Principal in preschool through elementary settings, supporting diverse school communities with strong multilingual programs, inclusive special education services, and a focus on both academic growth and social-emotional well-being. Throughout my career, I have partnered closely with teachers, staff, and families to strengthen instructional practices, support multilingual learners, design meaningful intervention systems, and create safe, supportive learning environments grounded in trauma-informed and restorative practices. At the heart of my work is a belief that every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and challenged, and that strong collaboration between school and home is essential to student success.
I am truly excited to get to know the AKF students, families, and staff and to learn from the traditions and strengths that already make this school such a special place. I look forward to listening, building relationships, and working together to support the growth of every child—academically, socially, and emotionally.
Thank you for welcoming me into your community. I cannot wait to begin this journey with you.
Warmly,
Anne Duke
