Families our first day of school is on Monday August 26th for Grades 1-3 at the Elementary School.
Bus lists have been shared and teachers have begun reaching out to say hello! We look forward to welcoming your student for another Abby Kelley year!
Kindergarten Families!
We will be having our Kindergarten Camp this year- a new addition to the school year, where your student will meet all of our Kindergarten teachers and staff. They will spend time in each of the rooms and be able to try a variety of Kindergarten activities such as read alouds, number sense, songs, games, and learning school expectations. Your students will be with us Tuesday and Wednesday of next week and will receive their official classroom teachers by Friday morning. Please do not bring in any supplies until the following Monday! Please make sure your students come in with their color codes stickers.
As the new principal of Abby Kelley Foster Elementary School, I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know a bit about me. I have been in education for 14 years serving families in a variety of spaces including Lawrence, Lowell, and Springfield. I have a passion for early literacy and foundational skill building and firmly believe that students all have the potential to be successful with the right tools. I look forward to building a strong family partnership where all members of the community are welcomed and valued. Welcome to a fantastic new year and we look forward to a great school year!

Attendance is a critical piece to educational success. Students who are absent over 5 days will receive communication regarding these absences with follow up plans.
Communication to teachers and staff can be done in the following ways- ClassTag (many teachers utilize this platform and will send you an invite within the first week of school), email, phone calls, or requesting virtual/ in person meeting times through appointment.
Please make sure all dismissal changes have been submitted prior to 2:30. In order to ensure student safety, we do not make dismissal changes after this time. All dismissal changes should go through the front office to ensure that the teacher sees the change.
Student schedules and information are posted on PowerSchool. If you are in need of support to set up your parent portal for PowerSchool, please let us know and we will schedule a meeting time with our IT department.
