COVID Testing in the 2021-2022 School Year
As of Monday, September 13, 2021 Abby Kelley will implement COVID testing for students and staff. The 2021-2022 COVID onsite testing program has three models, which Abby Kelley will be utilizing. When you consent to testing, you are consenting to all three models:
- Symptomatic Testing for students and staff who show symptoms of COVID at School;
- Routine COVID Safety Checks to prevent the spread of the virus among students and staff who are not showing symptoms;
- Test and Stay for students and staff who may have been exposed while in School but are not showing symptoms.
For additional information on testing being offered in schools this year, please visit the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) website and review the COVID Testing Consent Letters sent to families.

In-School Testing with Consent
Each of these tests require a quick, non-invasive nasal swab that is collected under the supervision of a school nurse. These tests are FREE to ALL staff and students and there is no limit to the number of times a student or staff member may participate in this testing during the school year. These tests are for ALL students and staff regardless of vaccination status. Families are encouraged to sign your student(s) up for these FREE tests to help us stop the spread of COVID and to keep all students and staff safely learning in school this year.
Students may only participate with permission and consent from a parent or guardian.
