In support of Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School’s mission, the counseling department works to assist all students in developing the academic, career, and personal/social skills needed to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens in a diverse and ever-changing community. The high school offers individual counseling to all students in regards to academics, personal/social growth, and home-related issues. The counselor acts as an advocate for the students, and offers support to students in conflict through mediation. In addition, the high school counselor provides college counseling to ensure that all students are prepared to transition to their post-high school destination. We also collaborate with teachers, provide crisis intervention when needed, and serve as liaisons with all outside agencies including The Department of Children and Families, welfare offices, mental health agencies, the court system, and others as needed. Our main goal is to be accessible to every student, but we also want to be accessible to all families. Feel free to call us with questions, concerns, or if you would like a one-on-one meeting. We look forward to working with you and your child this year!
