At Abby Kelley Foster, we provide an academic environment that values the excellence, leadership, and diversity of our students and the community. Our goal is to bring schools and communities together for the benefit of our children and our future. We make sure all students have an equal opportunity at academic achievement, personal and social growth, as well as career development. Every student is provided with the right tools to deal with life’s challenges in order to assist them in becoming successful and positive members in their communities. We understand and respond to the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population and want to help your children become all that they want to be.
The middle school offers individual counseling to all students in regards to academics, personal/social growth, and home-related issues. The counselor acts as an advocate for the students and offers support to students in conflict through mediation. Each week we hold lunch groups with students, where we address such issues as impulse control, self-esteem and social skills. We also collaborate with teachers, provide crisis intervention when needed, and serve as liaisons with all outside agencies including The Department of Children and Families, welfare offices, mental health agencies, the court system, and others as needed.
Our main goal is to be accessible to every student, but also want to be accessible to all families. Feel free to contact us with questions, concerns, or if you would like a one-on-one meeting. We look forward to working with you and your child.
